PT Nusantara Turbine and Propulsion received a visit from Experts of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) on Friday, June 10, 2022, Tim Lintas Kedeputian KSP consisting of Marsda TNI ( Purn. ) Warsono, Irjen Pol ( Purn. ) Hengkie Kaluara, Wisnu Aji Nugroho CACP, and Anggit Prasidha conducted field verification related to the readiness of the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Industry Ecosystem in Indonesia.
PT Nusantara Turbin dan Propulsi (NTP) is an MRO company with capabilities and businesses that continue to grow and develop, which has the capability of maintaining aircraft engines and Industrial rotating equipment, which is handled by skilled workers who are able to compete internationally. In running its business NTP has Certification from FAA-USA, DKPPU-RI, IDAA-KEMHAN RI, and ANAC-Brazil. NTP is also an Authorized Maintenance Center from Honeywell and GE, and is supported by Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney.
President Director of PT NTP (Nusantara Turbin dan Propulsi), Mr. Tarmizi Kemal Fasya Lubis explained that as an Independent MRO, PT NTP has the flexibility in developing capabilities and businesses to serve a wide spectrum of customers; Starting from domestic and foreign Civil Airline Operators, domestic and foreign Military Aircraft, and various oil and gas industries, petrochemicals, fertilizers, power plants, and many more.
PT NTP is also proven to have re-engineering and manufacturing capabilities, including the manufacture of 3MW steam turbines currently operating at Kamojang PLTP, and re-engineering High Pressure Fuel Pump engine Adour on Hawk Air Force aircraft.
Flexibility in terms of capabilities and business, as well as being able to serve a wide spectrum of customers is considered in line with the spirit of the establishment of the Indonesian MRO holding.
Mr. Tarmizi Kemal Fasya Lubis, said that currently PT NTP besides handling engine repairs in the Aero field, PT NTP also maintains and repairs machines for non-Aero types, namely Industrial Turbines ranging from Solar Turbine, Centrafugal Pump, Steam Turbine and Various Industrial. Currently, NTP also has the trust to work on the GE LM6000 engine from ITP Senipah (Gas Turbine above 50 MW). In the future, it is hoped that NTP can be more advanced and develop again in the Industrial field, and in the near future NTP hopes to gain the trust of the Indonesian Navy for maintenance of Astazou engines (combat ship engines).
NTP also cooperates with regard to education, among others with Nurtanio University (Unnur) in terms of education and capacity building in the field of aerospace and collaborates with PT Solar Service Indonesia including:
a. Practical work carried out by Unnur students in the study of students' final assignments.
b. NTP also received some of the best Unnur graduates to take part in PT NTP.
c. In addition, NTP in collaboration with PT Solar Service Indonesia held Apprentice Training for a period of 1 (one) year to produce ready-to-use personnel.
KSP Expert for SOEs, Wisnu Aji Nugroho CACP, who has been overseeing the acceleration of the formation of 12 holding clusters in SOEs since 2020 said that, after completing escorting the acceleration of the formation of SOE holding, in 2022 KSP will oversee the monitoring and evaluation program for Structuring Subsidiaries or Joint Ventures within SOEs in accordance with the President's direction which has also been made a Ministerial Decree (Kepmen BUMN SK-315 / MBU / 12/2019).
Wisnu said that subsidiaries incorporated in Defend ID (BUMN Holding Defense Industry) should immediately realize quick wins according to their respective sectors and business lines.
Wisnu continued the Quick Win Program in the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Industry, can be started by opening a discussion space related to collaboration between similar subsidiaries within the scope of the Ministry of SOEs such as PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF), PT Indopeilta Aircraft Service (IAS) and PT Merpati Maintenance facility (MMF) as well as related industries (Industrial Estate, Special Economic Zone, Cargo and Logistics).
The Presidential Staff Office encourages national innovation collaboration to build technological independence and improve the competitiveness of state-owned companies, and part of the global supply chain by developing global strategic partnerships and serving as a key driving force for the development of the domestic MRO industry ecosystem.
"PT Nusantara Turbine and Propulsion today presented a strategic plan related to the readiness of the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Industry, we have taken notes and will make a report to the Presidential Chief of Staff," explained Wisnu, a KSP Expert who is also responsible for overseeing strategic issues in the Ministry of Industry, Special Economic Zones and Industrial Estates.
